A quick month

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sky is a pale wintry blue outside the patio door so far today. Last week's snow is slowly melting away and I wonder what that silly Pennsylvania rodent is going to say about spring's arrival. Considering it was almost sixty degrees a few days ago, it's hard to believe it could still be winter for a while.

What have we been up to this week? Serra tried to be very quiet about her birthday and not share it with her friends. Her RA and roommate had other ideas. They decorated the door, got her favorite green tea, a manatee t-shirt and surprised her with a cake for the occasion. Efforts that made me very happy. She has become well known at the mailroom as Amanda and I drop shipped her gifts all week. Lavendar mints, a collapsible tea mug, her favorite noodles, and a couple other surprises should arrive soon. I hope it was a good way to welcome in nineteen.

Amanda has been attending class, surviving snowstorms and hanging out online with friends. This semester has been a bit of laugh to start off with as she previously learned many of the topics at RPI. I'm glad she has been able to keep a sense of humor about it this week instead of getting frustrated.

Crafts have been all over the place as usual. The yarn room, also known as the massive, almost third bedroom walk-in closet, is now organized and I hope to find some weaving inspiration soon. The Gallifrey 4-ply is currently drying, and I think I might be happy with it. Do I know what I am going to make with it? Nope, not yet anyway. Serra's second sleeve is finished and I have started on the neckline. I'll check in with her tomorrow to see how tall to make it. The week was busy with three different visits to The Loopy Ewe. A 1:1, new learn to knit, colorwork and lace all kept me busy. We can't start a new month without a new color from Little Squirrel!

Wholehearted is full of deep magenta brightened with hints of peach and blue. I still don't know what I am going to make with all of these sets. They are just too pretty not to collect, and I love supporting two local, small businesses.

As for me, January itself sped by faster than usual, however the days themselves are in a bit of a time warp. It is hard to believe last Sunday was only seven days ago. I like the slower feel to life right now and hope to keep it from speeding up as we move into spring. Yes, I know it's only February, not spring yet, especially considering it loves to snow here in March. The beginning of February is also Imbolc, a celebration of the light returning, of hope and of renewal. May it be a bright and shining month for us all.

Next week! More of the same with a dash of the extra. Amanda and Serra will keep plugging away with classes. I get to handle car maintenance, some cleaning at the previous address, a new round of ankle pt and classes to teach. Breathe, shine, dream, Love, let the light in, and I'll be back next week :)
