Good Morning and Happy Sunday! A little gentler start this morning as I did not get out of bed when I first woke up at five. Fall is trying to arrive with the cooler temperatures in the morning that I love.
What did we do this week? Amanda and Serra each had their first week of classes! So far it sounds like the semester is going to be good. Amanda is trying to confirm that the audioelectronics class she signed up for will count for credit and Serra is ready to get things moving with her full slate of classes and labs. Hopefully that will happen after the long holiday. Amanda ran off to Long Island for some best friend time and Serra has found herself a 'gang' as she calls them to run with. I'm glad things are off to a good start.
The latest issue of Spin Off came out this last week and I think it is amazing! I have to admit that I'm a spindle spinner at heart and this issue is all about those. I also spent two days at the shoot this last week for Little Looms. Hard to believe we are working on the Spring issues for 2025 already.
Crafts this week were all over the place with knitting, weaving, and spinning. Three more hexies joined the pile and I found a bit of time with Flynn.
Trying to find my weaving creativity again.
I also finished another spindle of my Tour de Fleece spin.
Six spindles down, four to go! At least now my ankle can handle treadling a wheel for short amounts of time to be able to tackle the plying.
I also taught a cable class at The Loopy Ewe yesterday so of course that means new yarn!
Couldn't help myself and had to get Little Squirrel's September sock set.
As for me, and my first solo week, things are good. I still had plenty of social time with the shoot, teaching, and the girls facetiming on Monday. Contrary to popular belief, I'm enjoying the quiet. Yes, it is different, that is the nature of change, things evolving and growing. That is something all three of us are doing right now and I love it. Change is how you expand and become more. How boring would life be if everyone stayed in the same place they grew up and did the same things the generations before them did? I'm pretty happy with where I am right now and know that it is only going to get better.
Next week! September is here and it's time to make the most of the last third of the year. Classes for the girls, work, craft, and getting back to the gym for me. Breathe, be, smile, feel, Love, soak in each moment no matter how small, and I'll be back next week :)
