Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The weather has been all over the place to kick off February. Nothing like 40 degrees swings of temperature from night to day and unexpected storms that turn sidewalks into skating rinks. I would like to think spring is on the way. Trouble is every time it has been this mild, spring break has become a winter wonderland. I guess we'll see what March brings.
What have we been up to this week? Some wonderful winter weather made its way to Serra in the form of freezing rain. Campus did not open until noon on Thursday taking out her Chem lab. The professor is still trying to find a time for them to make it up. Considering it is her only class on Thursdays, she decided to stay cozy in bed for the day.
Amanda has been preparing for her first Anatomy exam next week. The skeletal system is a little more than singing the Dem Bones song. I'm sure it will go well for her considering she has taken Anatomy before. Her group is still trying to get the director to understand their project. Thankfully the program engineer does and has been doing his best to help.
Crafts have finally seen the finish of Serra's sweater!

Allons-y! Fiber Arts creates amazing colors on luscious fiber blends. This is Hogget Haunui from New Zealand and silk. Her shop updates are few and far between, so you have to jump quick to get some. This is one of two braids in this blend I was able to snag last year. One of the beauties of spinning laceweight yarn is that it does not take a lot of fiber to sample your spin. Sampling is something I am working to do more of instead of just going for it at the wheel. My small 2-ply sample came out to a grist of 5400 yards per pound and 30 wraps per inch. It should produce a skein of about 1675 yards to make something wonderful from.
The move is mostly complete with getting the large items hauled away this week. I need to spend some time removing the last bits and cleaning to be able to call it done. New place already feels like home and has made it difficult to go back and finish the work on the previous place. I need to because it did serve us well for 18 years.
As for me things feel good. It has been a very social week with teaching classes, dinner with my uncle and lunch with two wonderful men that have shared their lives with me over the past 31 years. The three of us find that number very hard to believe! I am extremely grateful for their continued presence in my little world.
Next week! According to the weather app, more snow is in store for Amanda and Serra. Funny thing, the app is never right. A busy one for me with two days at a shoot and more teaching on Saturday. Breathe, relax, smile, glow, Love, find what makes you feel at home, and I'll be back next week :)
