Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is shining outside my window here in the Fort but the air still has a bit of winter to it. This kind of weather is probably one of my favorites. Cold at night, especially if you leave the windows open and warm during the day so you enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Hopefully any more storms this spring will be only rain for the lilacs but I know better considering some of our past April storms.
What were the girls and I up to this week? A lot of the same every day routine although Serra was surprised when I told her that she's only got about 35 days over the next eight weeks. I do hope that her classes are more engaging in the fall. Amanda is preparing for class registration and planning to take a heavier load next year. It's funny to listen to her complain about the computer system for registration because I remember having to dial in on the phone and praying to the get the classes you wanted.
Projects are coming along and this week will see more prep for the market on Saturday. I'm hoping to finish Max's black silk.
I knew there was no way that I would be able to finish the 120/2 silk on Flynn, especially after snapping a thread when I tightened the tension yesterday. I've found that the smaller the thread the more meticulous you have to be with the warping process. I took the warp off saving it on tamas and dressed Flynn in new colors.
This is three different shades of purple in 20/2 silk randomly placed on the warping board that I mirror threaded and will weave with black. I'll get this started and have it with me on Saturday for demonstration. This week will see lots of little things to get ready for Saturday.
As for me this week was a roller coaster, some ups and some downs. Sometimes I don't mind being alone and sometimes it's hard and this was one of the tough ones. Still trying not to beat myself for not doing more the past four years yet also being glad for what I have learned during that time. Opening Day was this week and Boston being delayed by weather for a day made it even better. Now we just need to get that first win although I know Mets fans would simply like to get a first game! For those that celebrate Happy Easter/Spring/Ostara. Easter was never really a big one for me growing up and I have some not so great memories of times with others but I hope you all enjoy the day however you chose to spend it. Breathe, take care of you and I'll be back next week ;)
