Good morning Internetland! A little late today as I think I'm finally over my jetlag from the previous week. Our first stop: Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois I had no idea when I booked the trip that it was graduation weekend. We saw lots of purple caps and gowns and helped a family take photos with their graduate. We can't stop in Chicago without a visit to: Wrigley Field! We chose to go when another team that we follow would be in town also. Cub fan Amanda was not happy with the outcome but it was a really good game between the two clubs. Next stop on the hit parade: Albany, NY We spent a day driving around sight seeing....
Good Morning Internetland! Things are off to a slow start this morning with sleeping in and Daddy heading home. Thankfully the girls are each in good moods and getting excited for the week ahead. As for the week that was! I'd like to say that I got a lot of craft done but that was not the case. Instead we did some celebrating: Our annual trip to Coors Field to see the Chicago Cubs take on the Rockies. Amanda was not pleased with the final score but we always have a great time. Thankfully Serra did not eat too much sugar and this was Daddy's first ever trip to the ballpark. I think we overloaded him a bit with baseball...
Good Morning everyone *yawn* late start today but that's what happens when you're out on Saturday night. In fact I'm the only one out of bed. I tell ya Daddy comes over and we party! So what fun did I have this week? Thursday I buzzed up to Estes Park for part of the Wool Market happenings. I took a workshop taught by Peggy Doney of The 100th Sheep and learned about color. At the beginning it felt like being back in Chemistry class my freshman year! Once I read through the notes I understood what we were going to do and a lot of things I had been missing in my own dyeing came to light. After mixing dyes...
Good morning Internetland! I would say that it is a lazy Sunday but when you wake up at 530 am it's hard to call it so. Granted the girls and Daddy are still sleeping but that will change once I start the coffee. What new this week? Colors of course! On the Hand dyed yarn page are this quarter's colors. The girls appropriately named them April Showers and May Flowers. There are six skeins in each color in each base available. This week I get to go to the Estes Wool Market and take a dye class. My hope from this is to be able to create a standard set of colors to have along with coordinating random limited colors....
Good morning and welcome to a long holiday weekend. Hopefully here in the Fort we are done with our wacky weather and on to true spring. The girls have a couple more funsy days of school filled with yearbook signing, locker cleaning and general silliness before being out for a few weeks. "A few weeks?" you say. Summer is short here with Amanda taking two online summer classes and music commitments coming in July. Thankfully these start just about the time they start to get bored. So what to talk about when you don't have anything to talk about? I'm still working on yarn colors and keep having to remind myself about the dye class that I'm going to at...
