Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Spring might finally be here in my little corner of the Fort. The grass is green, the trees are covered in leaves and mornings are full of birdsong from those that live outside my window. Having a consistent body clock is both a blessing and a curse as I was awake earlier than planned to listen to their song. What were we up to this past week? Amanda spent part of it on an adventure with her best friend in Boston. They saw the sights, ate a ton of food and had an absolute blast. Of course, once she got back to New York her end-of-school-year cold kicked in and had her feeling under the...

Waiting

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's a quiet morning as an impromptu sleepover happened last night. The sun is shining, the grass is green and at the moment my only wish would be for the scent of lilacs to slide in through the window.  What did we do this past week? Amanda is finished with classes and students moved out yesterday. She is on a well-deserved trip with her best friend this weekend exploring Boston. I hope that she is not too bored when she gets back to campus and has nothing to do beyond packing before her graduation ceremonies. What I can announce is her acceptance into the University of Rochester's Biomedical Engineering Master's Program in the Center for...

Weathering the storms

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I have a bit of multitasking going on at the moment as I want to write and have English Muffins for breakfast. One of the good things about getting up early consistently is having extra time. Granted, there are also times in the evening where I think it is later than it actually is! Mother Nature got angry that we did not enjoy her spring snow and scared the crap out of Serra and I with her thunderous complaints on Friday before the rain began. I'll take all the rain we can get to avoid wildfires this summer. What a week it was! I know it was only one, but it felt so much longer....

Oh April!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I should have looked at the calendar. There is no way Colorado can get away with spring sliding in so easily without the April snow that always happens this week. The view is foggy, and patches of green are poking up through the white snow. Yes, I said snow. Thankfully not as much as I have seen in years past and the roads are dry instead of icy. I shook as much as I could out of my tree friend yesterday, so I hope he is alright. What trouble did we cause this week? Amanda had quite the roller coaster. Frustrations with the capstone group, approval from the professors, good news for the showcase, a...

Depeopling

Good morning and Happy Sunday! My little corner of the Fort is bright and sunny so far today and I am loving all of the green I see. My tree friend out front has declared that spring is here has sprouted tiny leaves all over. I even got to sleep with the window open last night without freezing myself out. Maybe a few more weeks will see the lilacs around town return. What did we do this week? It is more of the same with a bit of a different flavor for Amanda. It is the final push to the end of the year and the final push to the end of the degree. Capstone is still a bear as...
