Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The cooler temperatures had me staying snuggled in bed longer than I planned. Why do I still get up a little early on the weekends? I love to watch the colors of the sky during a sunrise and enjoy the quiet of the world before everyone wakes up and gets moving. It helps slow me down before life speeds up. What did we do this first week of 2023? The girls finally had a chance to enjoy some sister time by going out together on Tuesday. The candy shop and lunch were a good way for the two of them to reconnect. We also caught Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that evening before it left the theatres. Some...
Good Morning, Happy Sunday, and Hello 2023! The sun is trying to peek through the clouds in my little corner of the Fort today. The temperature is warm enough that I shut the heat off, or I am a touch feverish from getting my fourth vaccine shot yesterday morning. I was expecting the side effects yesterday, but they waited until four this morning to show up. Made for a rough night of sleep however I was able to finish a cake yesterday without them so that is good. I had every intention of writing last week, even with it being Christmas morning. The last eleven days of 2022 were a doozy! It all started with Amanda getting the approval to...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's cold but clear in my little corner of the Fort. While I know it is the time for snow, I would appreciate the skies waiting to grace us with the white stuff for a little bit. We are almost to the Winter Solstice, and I am ready to start seeing more light. What did we do this week? Serra is currently recovering from an extremely busy one. Jazz rehearsals, an extra concert band rehearsal, French club meeting, three tutoring sessions for Science Honor Society, and two concerts can wipe a kid out. The concerts were great, and I love that she enjoys jazz. This week is a short one with only two and half days...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Chilly and sunny in my corner of the Fort which is usual this time of year. Time to pull out the cozy slippers and snuggly blankets. I'm a little slow today with some rough sleep last night but hopefully that will get corrected this week. What did we do this week? Serra had a bit of a rough one with a couple of days out of class. Thankfully she is not behind on her schoolwork, and we were able to talk out some things she has been holding in. There are only so many books your shelf can hold and hers was past its breaking point. Only seven and a half more days of school...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The blue skies are out on display today even with it being a little chilly. That is Colorado for you, especially after our round of snow last week. I wonder if small 4–6-inch storms with clear skies in between are going to be the norm us this winter. That might be little easier to manage than two feet over spring break in March! What did we do this week? I know that Monday was only seven days ago however it feels like last Monday was a month ago. Routine returned with Serra heading back to school and company making it home after the storm. The first thing Serra and I did was to catch up...
