Good morning and welcome to a long holiday weekend. Hopefully here in the Fort we are done with our wacky weather and on to true spring. The girls have a couple more funsy days of school filled with yearbook signing, locker cleaning and general silliness before being out for a few weeks. "A few weeks?" you say. Summer is short here with Amanda taking two online summer classes and music commitments coming in July. Thankfully these start just about the time they start to get bored. So what to talk about when you don't have anything to talk about? I'm still working on yarn colors and keep having to remind myself about the dye class that I'm going to at...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday Internetland! I hope that this last week treated you well. So what creativity has been happening here this last week? We've finished concert band season for both girls with movie music filled concerts and already jumped into marching band for the fall with welcoming in the new freshmen this past Saturday. I finished the publish project and got it shipped off in time to the magazine. Once I know dates I will share when it will be available. Currently there are 10 new colors of yarn in various stages of rinsing and drying that I will photograph this week and take into Your Daily Fiber. My two quarterly colors based on the lilac photo I...
Good morning and Happy Sunday to all of you! Last week here in the Fort we managed to have rain, snow, sun and hail all in one day! Thankfully it wasn't large enough hail to do any damage to us and reminded me of the Dipping Dots ice cream that the girls love to get at the ballpark. The sun is out and the sky is blue so far today. The girls and I have decided that our little corner of the world has five seasons, summer, fall, winter, false spring and spring. Maybe we can finally have a bit of spring and enjoy the lilacs around town. It's tough to find things to talk about when so many of...
Good morning and Happy Sunday out there to all of you! Considering today is Cinco de Mayo and the morning after Fossil's prom celebrations I imagine a lot of you are still enjoying your slumber. Looking out the windows and hearing the birdsong might make you think that spring is finally here to stay....never should have looked at the forecast that says snow is coming on Thursday. So what do I have to talk with about today? Something I can share is great news from Ayelet of Arts & Found. She is the fellow crafter that organized the Arts and Crafts Swap that I talked about here. She writes a weekly newsletter featuring different craft classes and events happening in...
Good morning and Happy Sunday! Scarves are drying and projects for April and May are getting finished which makes me feel good. Next up is creating a plan to get life rolling, but first some of yesterday and how today is not a normal Sunday here. Yesterday Serra participated in the State tournament for Science Olympiad. While she personally was not happy with her individual scores she did place in the top ten in all three of her events. Also her team at Preston placed 3rd! Another Preston team took 1st place and will represent the state of Colorado at the National competition in New York in June. I'm very happy that Serra wants to participate again next year as...
