An all over the place kind of week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Yes I know it's early as the sun is just peeking over the edge of the sky into my window. It's hard to sleep when someone you know is getting on a plane and you are hoping for safe travels. I think spring has finally arrived in my little corner of the Fort as this date of the year is usually one of the snowiest and there is none in sight. What did we do this week? It's interesting how from a practical standpoint time is a constant. We have the same amount of it every week yet some fly by and others feel like an eternity. This week was one of those. Serra had...

Rolling with the bumps

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I think the seasons are having a bit of a see saw battle at the moment. The temperatures are still cold but signs of spring are popping through. April in Colorado is still dodgy so I won't hold my breath just yet on winter not having one last hurrah. What did we do this week? Serra had a bumpy one and stayed home a couple of days. It's also difficult to go to school when you are bored there. She was able to make up two days' worth of work in about two hours. I am not a fan of the four block class system that the high schools switched to last year because there...

Falling into place

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It is chilly in my little corner of the Fort this morning. Cold enough to pull the winter slippers out again. Glad of it though as I would prefer some gentle spring weather over jumping right into summer's high temps. I would love some rain but it seems we always need that this time of year. What did we do this week? Serra had a quiet one and made it all five days. Currently she is enjoying new pieces of music in Jazz, getting ready for the State competition for Concert band and loving her Yoga class. Fridays are Yin Yoga or "Zen yoga" as she calls it because it is so relaxing. The class...

Sunshine, human nature and learning

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The songbirds were not awake at 5 am but I was. Cool air has winter still trying to stick around even with the 70 degree temperatures we had yesterday. It would be nice to have a bit of spring instead of jumping straight to the heat of summer. Granted any type of time outside regardless of the temperature sees me get some kind of sunburn! What were we up to this week? Serra had a couple of rough days but recovered enough in time to play at her first Jazz concert. Have to say that it was one of the best concerts I've been to for both the music and the relaxed nature of it....

Spring, a new friend and March Madness

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The birds have been singing since five am and I just watched three robins hop around the backyard. Hopefully that means the Spring Equinox is really here and that any more moisture we get will be rain and not snow. I'll need to find some lilacs when they bloom this time around. What have we been up to this week? Serra has been on Spring Break! I felt bad about not planning or really doing anything but she has appreciated the down time. Extra sleep, bowls of chili and Animal Crossing has been the norm along with a few car rides and boxing twice this week. I know that she is not going to want...
