Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Let's see, blue sky, bright sun, green grass....is it really spring? It's NoCo so who knows especially after the spring snow we had this week. Hopefully the weather is going to start behaving as rain instead of snow and not hurt the lilacs trying to bloom around town. What did we do this last week?! It was a big one. Serra had a very easy week as the district held its round of state tests. One good thing that Fossil does is the kids take the college entrance exams. Freshmen and Sophomores take the PSAT and Juniors the SAT which they can go ahead and report on their college applications. As for other parts of...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I would add Happy Spring to that as the buds are beginning to sprout on my tree out front but I know better. Speaking from experience there's bound to be at least one to two more bits of snow to come our way. What did we do this past week? Serra is ready to be done but actually excited about a debate for English class. When she believes in a particular side she gets passionate about it and then wonders why teachers want her to do AP English courses and speech and debate. Amanda has a couple of tests this week and hopes that they don't end up back in quarantine before finals. As for...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is shining outside my window here in the Fort but the air still has a bit of winter to it. This kind of weather is probably one of my favorites. Cold at night, especially if you leave the windows open and warm during the day so you enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Hopefully any more storms this spring will be only rain for the lilacs but I know better considering some of our past April storms. What were the girls and I up to this week? A lot of the same every day routine although Serra was surprised when I told her that she's only got about 35 days over the next...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Little chilly so far here in the Fort today but I'm sure that will be changing. I think we are coming out of winter's grasp into spring. Personally I'm still hoping for some rain to visit around lilac season. I try to keep things light and positive here, even during this past year with the pandemic. Today however I need to share some thoughts about Boulder. I am a Colorado native and grew up with various guns and weaponry in the house. I was taught how to use such tools and always supervised. My stepdad was a police officer and a member of the National Guard; teaching me was the best way to keep me...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Quiet here in my little corner of the Fort so far today. The sun is peeking out but I think winter is going to try to blow through just a bit again this afternoon. I believe the official count in my area from the snowstorm was 20 inches of snow, most of which is all gone now which is one of the perks here. What did we do this past week? Serra did as I thought with it being her spring break, eat soup, sleep and play Minecraft. School starts up again tomorrow with students going back in person full time. I hope that it goes well because her friends are on opposite days...
