Good Morning and Happy Sunday! A little quiet so far as the girls are still asleep. Bit of a cloudy morning too as we had some thundershowers visit our little corner last night. Hoping the temperature stays down some as I would love to open the windows for some fresh air. What have we been up to this week? It has been a tale of two extremes. The first couple of days were very busy with a photo shoot for Little Looms. The second half of the week has been extremely low key. I guess that's what happens when you have ankle surgery on Wednesday. I'm told everything went well and the girls have been taking great care of me. And...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's a quiet morning here in my little corner of the Fort. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and the grass is green. Not a bad looking day so far. And yes, I am still up early. Having a consistent body clock doesn't allow for much sleeping in! What trouble did we cause this week? It was a weird one with the holiday. Amanda's friend Sabrina was correct saying that it may be a four-day week, but we are still trying to do five days' worth of work. I couldn't agree more, especially considering I spent the 'holiday' knitting for PieceWork. Work with a short week meant a big chunk needed to get done....
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! My little corner of the Fort is bright and sunny in more ways than one. Both the sun and life are shining strong today. Fair warning this is mostly a proud parent post. It's been a couple weeks to catch up on! Last weekend was a trip to New York for Amanda's graduation. She shared her favorite restaurants, and we spent a day seeing the sights on campus before the big day. A bagpipe-lead processional, an impromptu speech as the written version did not get uploaded and 1800 students names read lead to this. Cum Laude Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Medical Devices. The day finished with packing up her...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Spring might finally be here in my little corner of the Fort. The grass is green, the trees are covered in leaves and mornings are full of birdsong from those that live outside my window. Having a consistent body clock is both a blessing and a curse as I was awake earlier than planned to listen to their song. What were we up to this past week? Amanda spent part of it on an adventure with her best friend in Boston. They saw the sights, ate a ton of food and had an absolute blast. Of course, once she got back to New York her end-of-school-year cold kicked in and had her feeling under the...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's a quiet morning as an impromptu sleepover happened last night. The sun is shining, the grass is green and at the moment my only wish would be for the scent of lilacs to slide in through the window. What did we do this past week? Amanda is finished with classes and students moved out yesterday. She is on a well-deserved trip with her best friend this weekend exploring Boston. I hope that she is not too bored when she gets back to campus and has nothing to do beyond packing before her graduation ceremonies. What I can announce is her acceptance into the University of Rochester's Biomedical Engineering Master's Program in the Center for...
